Health hazard

Lead is hazardous for your health when ingested or when lead contaminated dust is inhaled. Lead poisoning, called saturnism, can cause nervous and digestive system disorder, and anemia. Children are especially exposed, especially those of less than 6 years, because they spontaneously put objects in their mouth, and by doing that, ingest important quantities of dust and paint chips. Moreover, the toxic effect of lead is more dangerous for children because of cerebral development processes. Lead poisoning can cause backwardness, difficulties in learning processes, psychomotor troubles, sleeping troubles, and in extreme case, growing retardation. A lead intoxication in adults can cause neurological diseases (peripheral paralysis, arms and hands nerves), abdominal pain, anemia, high blood pressure, insomnia, headaches, head spin. Inhaled lead by a pregnant woman can also harm the baby.
